Embodiment

One of the critical steps in the healing journey is connecting with your body. Embodiment is the process of repairing your relationship with your body. It is not about the type of body you have but about nurturing a relationship with it.

We connect you with tools to cultivate a relationship with your body that is built on trust, acceptance, communication, respect and honesty. Our approach is not prescriptive. We trust that you are the ultimate authority on your body.

In our classes and course we help you cultivate awareness of the relationship between your mind and body. We draw primarily on the teachings of yoga. Yoga postures have therapeutic benefits that heal, repair and restore. The postures are supported by a philosophical framework that guides our ethics and values. We hold ourselves accountable to the values of compassion, truth, generosity, moderation and responsibility.

We look forward to supporting your embodiment journey.

  • We support organisations that are incorporating care and wellbeing into their culture. We have two types of offerings:

    1. Body breaks on a continuous basis made available to teams/ organisations either online or in person.

    2. Body breaks for a gathering/workshop/event. We are adept at tailoring our movement sessions to the content of your online and physical gathering.

Our Body Breaks create an opportunity to practice and make tangible concepts which can sometimes feel abstract. It is one thing to talk about awareness and another to learn to cultivate it through paying attention to your breath.

“Sizwe’s work and inputs has been incredibly valuable to us over the last 2 years. We regularly work with diverse groups from all over the world focusing on organisational development and facilitation skills development (mostly done online due to the pandemic). We always look for an opportunity to invite Sizwe as a guest facilitator in our sessions to eloquently and powerfully illustrate the role of the body in who we are as people and how we show up in the world ”
